Photo-realism is something not anyone can achieve. Not only does it take years of experience and learning tricks in Photoshop (or whatever software you prefer), but it also takes patience and mastery of photography. Photography is a challenging art in and of itself, but some people take it one step further and create situations most people would never think of. Imagining out-of-this-world scenes isn't that hard, creating them is hard, but how about taking real-world situations and blurring the line between those and fantasy?
Christophe Huet is a master at that. He portrays every-day moments and turns them into a mix between reality and a dream world. Not only does he do it with great style, but he makes it look so real some of his work could trick you. Accomplishing that is admirable, and something few artists can really do. His photography is already amazing without the digital additions. His lighting is amazing and the colors in every picture are simply astounding (some of his work has a retro-touch to it = i'm his fan).
My favorite piece is his portrayal of Superman. This comic-book hero is known as the "Man of Steel" to most.. but not to Huet. In his world, Superman is hospital-ridden. He is pictured as malnourished. His skin lacks color and looks pale. He even has a mask on to help him with his breathing.
